Heritage-listed wilderness, and Australian native animals up close…

On the Blue Mountains day tour you’ll experience the majesty and vast, wild beauty of a heritage-listed national park. Grab spectacular views of the Three Sisters and Katoomba Falls from Echo Point and the Scenic Skyway, ride the Scenic Railway and Scenic Cableway into the Jamison Valley for rainforest walks, or get away from the crowds on the Furber Steps instead. We’ll catch Eaglehawk Lookout and see the Megalong Valley from Cahills Lookout, then on to the beautiful Grose Valley and Bridal Veil Falls at Govetts Leap, and visit the quaint mountain towns of Leura, Katoomba and Blackheath

On the way to the Blue Mountains, we can also stop at Featherdale Wildlife Park to get up close and personal with kangaroos, koalas, wallabies, wombats, dingoes, echidnas, emus, cassowaries, Tasmanian devils, a saltwater crocodile and many other Australian natives

Breathtaking scenery, unique native animals, and the option of taking the Rivercat back to the city at the end of the day

“Peter was an excellent guide. He was very nice and very knowledgeable about Australia. He knew the backroads, to get around traffic around the city, and that moved us along well. Peter also got us to the front of the lines at Featherdale and Scenic World and knew both which attractions were worth our time as well as the best way to avoid the crowds. He also booked a super cool lunch place in Leura, up in the mountains. We were very happy with the tour and would recommend him to others. We would also hire him for any other tours we would plan to do around Sydney in the future.”

“Everything was great, from the pick up at our hotel, getting any and all questions about Australia answered, to being the first ones in at Featherdale, and of course the spectacular beauty of the Blue Mountains. We opted to take the ferry back into Sydney the last several miles and had great views of the bridge and Opera House coming back into Circular Quay… It was a very full day and well worth the cost to have our own private guide who really was great in every respect”

“Through the day, we saw:
– Featherdale Wildlife Park. What a treat! We were literally the first to enter the park, having the animals to ourselves for some time, thanks to Peter’s timing.
– Scenic World – including all the traditional rides (Skyway, Railway – twice, and Cableway) and all the scenery of two great hikes (Furber Steps, and a waterfall trek)
– Nice mountain villages, including a nice stop for lunch
– An excellent cliff hike
We covered a lot of ground, and Peter was a great guide – sharing his insights and the day never felt rushed. Check out his website directly, which had good itinerary ideas, FAQs, and booking options”

“Peter arrived at agreed time (go early!) and was professional, knowledgeable about the area, had great ideas for places to see and do and was a lot of fun! We don’t generally like tours and this was perfect! He took us to very cool places for lunch and for coffee (not touristy and interesting) and was flexible about how we did things throughout the day”

“We started early so that we could be at the Featherdale Wildlife Park by 8 am {tours get in early]. A huge number of animals to see and feed. We had never witnessed koalas running around on the ground before [they were hungry]. I highly recommend Featherdale. We then headed to the Scenic Railway and the Blue Mountains. Peter had a plan to ride all of the rides at the Railway and worked in a downhill hike for us [much better than an uphill hike]. Please note that everything on the tour was customizable and at our own pace”

“Peter was very helpful and happy to tailor the day to what we wanted for our trip. On the day of the trip Peter was on time and extremely friendly when he pulled up to pick us up which made us feel at ease straight away. We had a terrific day with Peter and would not hesitate to recommend him or book him again if we visited Sydney. Thank you Peter. Had an excellent time!”

“We fell in love with Australia and this was partly because of our guide Peter. We were fairly flexible in our day and we ended up with two amazing hikes, delicious food, and an understanding of Australia that we never would have learned without a fantastic guide. ”

“We enjoyed the Blue Mountains unaffected by the crowds — due to Peter’s excellent knowledge and planning. 5 stars doesn’t seem enough. He is exceptional. My husband and I are from Texas and are tough critics. We would do any tour that Peter offered”

“Peter’s tour of the Blue Mountains was more than we could have expected when we booked our tour. Peter was great about listening to our preferences and tailoring the day to our travel style – which involved avoiding crowds and hiking to beautiful water falls. He answered a myriad of questions about all things Australian and stopped for lunch at a charming local restaurant. We were thrilled with our activities and thoroughly enjoyed our day hiking in the mountains with Peter”

“I had a great day in the Blue Mountains with Peter. He picked me up at my hotel right on time, and we headed off into the mountains. I told Peter I didn’t want to do a lot of tourist stuff, and that I was vegan. He took me to some nice walking trails where there were few tourists, and also found a restaurant where I could have a vegan lunch. Best of all, he was quite funny and engaging, and I thoroughly enjoyed our conversations. If I come back to Sydney, I will book him for a tour again. Highly recommend!”

“We were the first through the gates at Featherdale Wildlife Park which was great to be able to see all the animals and feed some of them. Peter does not rush you and is very flexible to make sure you see all you want. We then headed up to the Blue Mountains and Echo Point was a stunning viewpoint. Peter then showed us parts of Scenic World away from other people so you could experience the peace and quiet. The Blue Mountains are amazingly beautiful and it was great to see them on a private tour rather than being herded on and off a big coach. We have already booked another tour with Peter”

“Peter has a well oiled system with his online booking and communications. He sends you information before and after your tour with useful tips around Sydney. While it’s not included in a normal tour guide job, that is nice to have that extra contact with questions of what restaurant, bar, store, etc… even before you meet. For our tour we went to the Blue Mountains and Eastern suburbs of Sydney. He talked as much as we wanted and stayed quiet when we fell asleep in the car”

“Our family (two adults and two teenagers) did a Blue Mountain tour day with Peter. He was great — interesting, amenable and informative (our kids say he is their favorite of all the guides we worked with) AND he very kindly provides a lot of ‘extra’ city information as soon as you book with him, which I really appreciated. We aren’t tour people, but the next time we are in Sydney Peter is who I will contact”

“Peter knew exactly when to get us to Scenic World in time to beat the big tour buses and which ride to go on first. He basically managed our timing so well that we didn’t really notice any crowds. We also beat the crowds at Featherdale and had plenty of time with the animals (so happy we weren’t rushed through this experience!) He took us to a great lunch spot as well called the Leura Garage where we had one of the best meals of our trip. What I liked best was that a day out with Peter doesn’t give you the feeling of being “on a tour.” It’s more like you’re hanging out with your Australian friend who is fun to be around, knows all the best places to go, has lots of local knowledge, and takes you to the best spot for lunch. He even managed to keep our 11-year-old daughter engaged which was great!”

“Peter is very helpful, he always reply my email and explain everything patiently. Peter was on time picking us up in my accommodation at 7am. The car was very comfortable. I traveled with my husband at 5th May 2017, to Blue Mountain and Jenolan Caves. Peter made the ambiance comfortable, even he offered us to sleep if we want. He shared a lot of information about Sydney along the way. He knows how to avoid the crowd, and helped us to pick the best position when join the steepest railway at the Blue Mountain”

“He turned up on time at our Hotel in his smart and spotless van and drove us off to the Featherdale Wildlife Park where we were granted admission before the general public arrived. We then drove on to the Blue Mountains and Scenic World. Despite the crowds there, Peter guided us to the less crowded spots and walks. He proved knowledgeable and was happy to answer questions but didn’t provide the full on “in-your-face” commentary”

“It is the little things that make the difference. From knowing which seats to get on a tram for the best views to suggesting that we all stay still to just hear the beauty and sound of the rain forest. We feel like we have made a new friend that we would welcome into our home any time he comes to the States. I can’t not rate Peter highly enough. You will NOT be disappointed”

(MaryAnne W San Antonio, Texas Reviewed 19 February 2017)

“Peter advised an early start and this was great advice as we saw all the animals up close with no queues or crowds. We then saw the Blue Mountains from a range of excellent vantage points and took a scenic walk in the rain forest. Peter was an excellent and knowledgeable guide but also let us decide what we wanted to do and see where there were options. He also picked a very nice restaurant for lunch and sent us info on Sydney (restaurants etc) before we traveled. A really enjoyable day and felt like we saw a natural wonder in real comfort and style”
