Magnificent beaches, great wineries, quaint cool towns, country pubs…

Begin with a drive through the secluded splendour of the Royal National Park, then come upon the spectacular Illawarra coastline (a little Big Sur) and take in the view from Bald Hill, walk the distinctive Sea Cliff Bridge and cruise Grand Pacific Drive in style. Next is the cute coastal town of Kiama with its harbour and blowhole, then on to the wineries of the Shoalhaven to sample their wares before lunch in the beautiful dairy town of Berry. Climbing up the escarpment to the Southern Highlands, we dip through rainforest, into quaint Kangaroo Valley and over historic Hampden Bridge. And finally, the majesty of Fitzroy Falls before heading back to the big smoke

Beauty and history, this tour has beaches, scenery, wineries and plenty of quaint towns and country pubs, if that’s what takes your fancy

“We had a great day with Peter today going down the South Coast and back to Sydney via the Southern Highlands. We stopped at three fantastic wineries – Two Figs, Silos Estate and Cherry Tree Hill. On the way we had fantastic views as we travelled along the Grand Pacific Drive and through part of the national park. We stopped for a very good pub lunch half-way, and had a coffee stop with a view in the morning. Would very happily do this tour again. Thanks a lot, Peter!”

“The coastline and view from Bald Hill were spectacular. We loved the walk along Sea Cliff Bridge and the rain and wind did not detract from our enjoyment. Peter was attentive to our needs but never intrusive. He was knowledgeable and happy to answer our numerous questions. The trip was tailored to our wishes and flexible in terms of how long we spent at each stop and where we wanted to stop. We were lucky to experience the Kiama markets on Sunday and there was time to pick up delicious local treats. We had a lovely lunch at Berry, travelled the winding bush road to Kangaroo Valley and then checked out the Fitzroy Falls. This was a perfect way to see the highlights of the South Coast and Southern Highlands”

“My husband and I had a wonderful time touring the southern landscape of Sydney. The best part of the tour (although it felt more like an excursion with a well informed friend) was driving through parts of the country that most visitors miss. We were also able to ask a lot of questions that we might not have asked on a larger tour. Peter’s flexibility allowed us to maximize our adventure and provide a stunning day from start to finish. We had already spent a lot of time in Sydney’s city center so visiting the surrounding areas and taking in the amazing scenic views was a great addition to our trip. It was fun to spend the day with a “local!””

“We saw coastal beauty, lovely beaches, quaint towns, pub stops for refreshments, a winery, beef and dairy farms, rainforest, mountain roads, and a waterfall. We also saw many beautiful and colorful birds and a couple of stingrays. Thank you Peter for sharing your information with us and making it an unforgettable day for us”

“Along the way Peter ‘kept it fresh’ with interesting stops, offered multiple options – resonating and pleasing all four members of our group of adult seniors. For example, did we want to shop in quaint villages? Take in a few area wineries? Or experience ‘off the beaten path’ public beaches and sights? We chose the small public beach – and were treated to an unexpected visit by a pair of Manta Ray’s searching dockside for food! Short strolls along key beach side vista’s also added to our perspective and was a welcome chance to ‘stretch our legs’ while enjoying the sights.”

“We viewed the Illawarra coastline, drove the Grand Pacific Drive, walked the Sea Cliff Bridge, stopped in Kiama, walked the harbor and saw a huge bull ray, an enjoyable visit of Silos winery, along the way enjoying wildlife especially the crimson rosellas. A stop at Southern Pies turns out to be one of my favorite!!”

“Best tour ever, driving from Sydney along magnificent coast to countryside, Kangaroo Valley, many small towns with wonderful takeaways. Fitzroy falls, and best of all, Peter Bailey, giving us hours of wonderful commentary before returning to Sydney for more sights”

“4 of us just got back from Peters coast and countryside tour. It was the most fantastic day. I cannot recommend it highly enough. If you have the opportunity and want to experience something different or have time after the “must see” attractions of Sydney and the Blue Mountains, do this trip. It consists of amazing views, beautiful deserted beaches and delightful picturesque country towns”

“This turned out to be the best tour I have ever been on. As it was just Peter and I, we were able to talk about many things. Peter was very knowledgeable about Australia and gave just the right amount of information. He was not one to fill your head with useless information. This tour took us along the coast and then inland. It was great to see non-touristy locations in the Sydney area”
